PLEASE SPONSOR ME!

Thank you for visiting my fund raising page!

On December 4, 2011 I will be running in The Metro PCS Dallas White Rock Marathon.  One of the charities I am raising funds for is The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

This awesome organization’s main goal is to help people trapped in emotional darkness continue to fight the good fight until they can someday find comfort in the light.

As many of you may know a little over six years ago my world was rocked when I was awakened by a gunshot.  I turned to find my girlfriends lifeless body slumped over inches away from me.

In the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and even years I struggled to keep it together.  I battled Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Alcoholism.  I often felt like I was walking a line with sanity on one side and insanity on the other.  You could say I was in a truly dark place.

In August of 2006 I participated in the Chicago “Out of the Darkness Walk”.  This was a 20 mile walk through the darkness of the night and poetically concluding at the dawn of a new day and the promise of light.
Doing this walk was one of the best decisions of my life.  It was truly therapeutic and helped me tremendously in the healing process.

I did the walk again the following year (2007) in New York City with my awesome niece Bonnie and equally awesome wife Susan.  Since the walk in NYC I have not participated in any AFSP events.  A recent suicide at work of a really great guy hit me hard and gave me the idea to have AFSP as one of the charities to raise money for in my quest for a Marathon medallion.

So please consider sponsoring me and show support for this awesome cause!!!  From $1 to $1,000,000,000 whatever you can spare would be appreciated!

Thanks again for visiting!!!
